Incomplete downloads

This app used to let me download the whole paper for reading on the train. Now it says it downloads, but only the first 14 or so pages come through. Since I pay for a subscription that includes digital access I would like to be able to use it.

The last few months, when I am in airplane mode it asks for a password. Then you get an error message because there is no internet to verify password. Turn on wifi, no password Needed. Please fix. If I cant read on my commute, what good is it!
